Deepak Nair also Known as Dean has Been a professional Rock Singer for over 20 years now and is the founder, song-writer and lead singer for the band PUNKH.

Dean holds a Bachelors degree in Jazz and Pop music from the Hochschule Fur Musik, Mainz, Germany with a major in Vocals and minor in Piano. Dean has also trained in Hindustani classical music for brief period of 3 years.

While in Germany Dean formed the rock metal band GURU and released the album ‘Ghoom’ with the major record label Times Music, India.

In 2007, upon his return to India, Dean recorded his second album and formed the electro-rock Band PUNKH and released the self-titled album with the major label EMI Virgin Music India.

Dean undertook frontman duties for popular Indian band – Bandish (2009-2011) and was featured alongside popular singer KK and master percussionist Pete Lockette on the bands 2nd album with Universal Music, India.
