IMLI TANGIT AO
Back in Nagaland, on a fine evening, Imli; a 7 year old boy got himself hooked to this mesmerizing tune played by one of the legendary guitarists, Joe Satriani. Little did he know that it would change his life forever. He picked up the guitar for the first time in search of that exact same sound and the exact same feeling. It wasn’t long enough before he started figuring out his favourite tunes and the right technique all by himself. Thus began his musical journey, primarily centered around self determination and perseverance but later grew under the guidance of many different people who came along the way.
In his early years of learning, Imli played a lot in Church and even joined different kinds of bands including a Rock Band called Van Guard, and played in some prestigious concerts. Later on, he migrated to the capital city in pursuit of more knowledge and learned under various mentors for advances courses in Rock Guitar. But that wasn’t it, he went on to pursue his passion in Classical guitar as well from from Delhi School of Music which led him to complete Grade 8 in Trinity College of Music.
Coming from a whole another part of India, Imli has experienced hardship in finding the right teacher which is why he teaches each and every one of his students with all his might. In a sentence, he is a gentle, fun and down to earth person who has always been an inspiration to his students.
