Western Classical Music

Western Classical Music has a rich source of challenging and rewarding music specifically written for instruments like Piano, Classical Guitar, Voice and Violin. These instruments were invented and developed in European countries where this music comes from and hence the most cherished pieces of music written for these instruments comes from countries like Germany, Austria, Italy, Spain, France. Not to mention how this music further developed in other parts of the world with special mention deserved by the UK, Russia and the USA.

The reason why classical music is so widely taught around the world is that the pedagogy of this music is centuries old. Popular classical music International exams boards were also set up as early as 19th century, i.e. Associated Board of Royal Schools of Music (1885), Trinity College London (1877), to name a few. Teachers of western classical music typically follow a highly developed structured curriculum which provides students a smooth progression into development of technique, repertoire, musicianship skills and interpretation.

Classical music is relevant to instruments such as the Violin, Piano, Classical (nylon string) Guitar and Vocals at the Academy. The online instructions for all these subjects are available at the Academy as none of these disciplines require technically complex setup. Students enjoy one to one personalised instructions with the teacher that helps students work on various aspects of their learning such as sight reading, sight singing (for vocals), ear training, repertoire development, technical skills, interpretation and improvisation. The music covered ranges from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Impressionist to contemporary classical composers.

Bridge Music Academy prepares students not only for international music exams but for admissions in some of the top classical music conservatories/colleges around the world. Recent success stories include Rishabh Jain, learning at Trinity Laban Conservatory of Music & Dance on full scholarship and Rohan Gupta, studying at ITHACA College in the USA. Both were students of Piano at the New Rajinder Nagar branch of the Academy.

Bridge Music Academy was formed in 2009 with a vision to offer International standard education in Western Music in India. Currently over 500 students learn at 4 branches of the Academy. Bridge Music Academy also manages and runs western music programs at high profile institutions such as IIT – Delhi, Salwan Public School, Manav Sthali School, Khaitan Public School to name a few.

The first branch of the Academy was setup in New Rajinder Nagar in West Delhi and soon expended to Dwarka and Chandigarh. Each faculty members are specialists at their particular subject and not a single faculty teaches more than one discipline which they specialize in! Every student has a different learning curve, goals and aptitude, especially with an art form like music.
