Contemporary Music - Offline

The western contemporary music has evolved over the past century but features multiple genres of music owing to the technological developments that went hand in hand with its evolution. Considering the recent history and fast evolving soundscape of contemporary music, pedagogy of teaching this form of music is in its early stage of development. Compared to classical, you will not find many method books developed specifically targeted at Rock, Pop and other current forms of music. What one could easily find are the repertoire books. This demands teachers of contemporary music to be creative in their approach and well equipped to create teaching resources as per the needs of the students.

Music is a complex artform, one that involves use of every area of the brian simultaneously as the performer negotiates various elements of music like melody, harmony, dynamics, articulation, interpretation, expressions, coordination, motor skills, etc. Yes today we have very advanced technologies that allow a student to learn remotely but offline learning has its unique set of benefits. The face to face interaction always allows for better communication, ability to play together with the teacher and of course, great audio experience, which is what music is all about!
